Album

The eponymous debut album from The Stone Roses fused the acid house rave culture of Manchester during the late 80s with an irresistible jangle pop sound that captured the hearts of British ravers. Thematically, the album perpetuates ill feeling towards the Monarchy, Politicians and establishment in general. The Stone Roses is the debut studio album by English rock band the Stone Roses. Equally important was the Roses' cool, detached arrogance, which was personified by Ian Brown's nonchalant vocals. What made the Stone Roses important was how they welcomed dance and pop together, treating them as if they were the same beast. Продать эту версию. Since the Stone Roses were the nominal leaders of Britain's Madchester scene - an indie rock phenomenon that fused guitar pop with drug-fueled rave and dance culture - it's rather ironic that their eponymous debut only hints at dance music. I bought mine brand new in a HMV store in London 1997 at normal 2xLP price still remember.

Vudojar
Does anyone know definitively if this is an AAA pressing?

Gri
There is some information on this forum https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/stone-roses-vinyl.438692/page-2 No guarantee that it is accurate or not but it seems legit. Whether it's a "AAA" pressing or not , most people on this blog say this (2 x45rpm 1991) has the best sounding vinyl.

PC-rider
This the best way to hear this album. It sounds better than any of the remasters.

Bloodfire
I doubt it, still, it's still regarded as the best pressing of this album.

Tetaian
Paid a bit too much for it, but it is the best version I have heard. Wide soundstage, very good dynamics!

FLIDER
The comments I've read on here just now have confirmed my opinion that this sounds far better than any of the other versions of this masterpiece! I've said to people on a number of occasions that the fact its a spread over a double LP format that plays at 45rpm means that its able to give up more bass etc.

Xanzay
Totally agree with the other members on this review. This is the one you need. I have owned many versions of this LP and hands down this is the best way to hear the record. Grab it while you still can.

Andromathris
I have heard many versions of this release including an original UK vinyl, original CD, remastered vinyl, remastered CD release, etc.I have to echo raoulduke881's sentiments, this is the definitive version! Nothing else comes remotely close. I let someone hear the opening track this past Christmas who really likes the album and at the end of the song they looked at me with wide-open eyes and said, "I've never heard it sound like that before". It's absolutely stunning. If this is one of your fave albums, you know...the kind you might consider spending a few extra bucks on and you have a decent stereo rig...jump in! You will absolutely not regret picking this one up.

Kelenn
I was lucky enough to buy it years ago (possibly not long after it was released) second hand and cheap. I was not a Stone Roses fan but being cheap I thought I should give it a chance. The sound quality in this version is indeed absolutely amazing. I have never owned another version to compare it with but it's one of those rare occasions when the sound quality of a record makes you an instant fan of the album/group. This is an album I would never part with or replace for another version.

Fordg
Bought a copy off a well-know internet auction site for (relative) peanuts. Records were massively overgraded, with marks all over the shop. But, oh my goodness. Even in this (aesthetically speaking) terrible condition - the sound quality! Absolutely sonically gorgeous. This is the best pressing, without doubt!I have the Japan 2xLP, various bootlegs, 2014 reissue and the 20th anniversary super-box: the 20th anniv. box is the only pressing to come close, in my eyes. After years of hearing this album in poor-quality mp3 and CD versions it honestly is like discovering the album anew. Get it, get it now!

Геракл
and this???? http://www.discogs.com/The-Stone-Roses-The-Stone-Roses/release/7107032Great reviews all round.

Wenyost
Totally agree. To coin a phrase: This Is The One. What an album, and in a lovely sleeve too.

Framokay
Amazing! If you love the Roses you got to have this pressing!

Thordibandis
this is the definitive version that beats them all. crystal highs, present and vivid bass: dynamic range at its best.

Kiaile
hadn't the chance.. but compared to the quite good 33rpm italian pressing i owned, this one's two steps forward.

Simple
What about 1995 2xLP japan pressing and 2009 limited 2xLP pressing? Did you compare them?

Cae
This is the version to get!

Shakanos
A Masterpiece. This 2 lp version have a very good sound quality

Zavevidi
Good recording but very noisy copy - especially side 3. Really ruins the quiet bits and depth of some of these classic tracks

Eayaroler
I have now ordered 2 copies of this album, and both have been sealed with no Side 1/2, but two Side 3/4 records.

Qwert
I just purchased this record last month. It was new & sealed and the same thing, two side 3/4 and no side 1/2

Usic
Record sounds great, but my sealed copy had two of the same record (side C & D), anybody have two of the other? What a tragedy for one of the greatest albums.

Thetalas
Same, two copies, 4 sides C and D. Going to try to contact LITA and see if they won't send a checked copy. All sides have non-fill, also.

Fast Lovebird
Yes, same here. Very odd. Gives me some comfort knowing I'm not the only one.

Kagrel
It's 33rpm, great sound quality and very silent copy. Pretty impressed with it.

Adaly
Anyone know if this is this 45rpm? More words and stuff

Delari
Nope, 33. I typically hate releases like this, but have to admit the sound quality is amazing. Much better than the single disc version.

Goldendragon
The Stone Roses debut is as close to perfection as any indie release has been in the last (20) years IMHO. From the shuffling opening of 'I Wanna Be Adored' to the resplendant closing of 'I Am The Ressurection' it is pure pop genius. Shame things came crashing down so hard for this band as 'Second Coming' was not much of a return to form. They had their moment in the sun though and at one point looked poised to conquer the world. Many bands, Kasabian for one, owe a great deal to The Roses and this terrific album. Desert Island Disc essential.
